Responsibilities
- Build and maintain core systems, tools, and environments for the Developer Platform group.
- Own the developer experience for DoorDash’s primary monorepo.
- Maintain the Bazel-based build ecosystem and evolve development environments, IDEs, and agentic tooling.
- Improve developer iteration speed, reliability, and consistency across the software development lifecycle.
- Translate customer problems and objectives into well-defined project scopes and solutions.
- Own areas within the team charter, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to cross-functional partners.
- Design durable solutions while balancing long-term and short-term trade-offs.
- Mentor teammates and serve as an empathetic and influential technical role model.
Requirements
- Strong background in software engineering, preferably with Go and/or Python.
- Extensive experience with infrastructure tooling, ideally Terraform.
- Extensive experience managing AWS cloud environments.
- Ability to contribute to the direction of a technical platform domain such as container orchestration, Kafka, build systems, or observability.
- Background building AI-assisted developer tools or integrating LLM-backed capabilities.
- Ability to own projects, define scoped problems, make technical trade-offs, and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
- Effective project management skills and ability to manage moderate ambiguity.
- Ability to mentor teammates and influence cross-functional partners.
