Base Salary
$737k - $1430k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set multi-year product and technical strategy for the Application Networking organization.
- Shape architectural direction for Netflix’s communication backbone across services, devices, partners, and cloud environments.
- Influence architecture and investment decisions across organizations, including peer teams without direct reporting relationships.
- Architect, build, and operate foundational distributed systems and platforms at massive scale.
- Identify and pursue high-impact opportunities in ambiguous and undefined problem spaces.
- Contribute to open-source communities or build systems and standards adopted by others.
- Elevate senior engineers and establish a high technical bar across the organization.
- Communicate technical direction effectively to engineering, product, and executive audiences.
Requirements
- Track record of setting technical direction and influencing architecture across organizations.
- Demonstrated experience architecting, building, and operating foundational distributed systems or platforms at massive scale.
- History of identifying and pursuing high-impact opportunities in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Experience shaping or contributing to open-source communities, or building systems that set standards others adopt.
- Track record of elevating senior engineers and setting technical direction for others.
- Strong communication experience across engineering, product, and executive audiences.
