Responsibilities
- Own strategic proof-of-concept engagements end to end, from customer commitment and scoping through activation.
- Work directly with customer engineers and technical leaders to discover workflows, prototype solutions, and establish paths to production.
- Design solutions spanning multiple Stripe products and distinguish configuration, integration, custom development, and core product needs.
- Address incomplete products, evolving requirements, and interoperability gaps while balancing immediate outcomes with reusable solutions.
- Translate customer needs and deployment friction into product requirements and influence product and engineering roadmaps.
- Coordinate account teams, Solutions Architects, product, engineering, Professional Services, and post-sales technical resources.
- Create reusable prototypes, reference architectures, implementation playbooks, and solution components.
- Stay current on emerging AI companies, products, business models, and technical developments.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience in customer-facing technical delivery, solutions engineering, implementation, technical product management, or a related field.
- Experience owning complex customer engagements from discovery and solution design through implementation or activation across pre-sales and post-sales phases.
- Demonstrated success in ambiguous 0→1 environments where standard products, integrations, or implementation patterns did not yet exist.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, application architecture, and data flows.
- Ability to prototype rapidly with modern AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
- Working proficiency in one or more relevant languages, including Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Ruby.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with customer engineers, technical leaders, founders, and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to lead through influence across sales, product, engineering, implementation, and post-sales teams.
- Experience operating at startup speed and in Slack-first, rapidly changing environments, with active engagement in the broader AI industry.
