Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex Android Automotive vehicle abstraction components, including VHAL services, subscription management, property storage, SOME/IP integration, and CAN signal-to-property mapping.
- Define property data models, vendor property ID allocation, JSON/ARXML generation, performance budgets, concurrency behavior, error semantics, and memory ownership.
- Own integration with vehicle network, E/E, Tier-1, app, and framework teams, including SOME/IP contracts, service discovery, serialization, and signal semantics.
- Lead squad planning, task breakdown, estimation, delivery tracking, final code review, mentoring, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and technical debt management.
- Own VTS coverage, SELinux policy, production security controls, and ASPICE requirement-to-test traceability.
- Manage component releases to Artifactory and the App Store.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions and 10+ years of total experience.
- At least 6 years of Android platform/AOSP experience with demonstrable VHAL or comparable HAL ownership.
- Advanced experience implementing or substantially modifying AIDL/HIDL HALs, including VINTF manifests, init.rc service definitions, and vendor/system partition placement.
- Advanced C++ 17 or 20 skills, including RAII, move semantics, concurrency, shared-state synchronization, profiling, and sanitizers.
- Strong Java and Kotlin skills for Car Framework and system-service development, including Binder threading, oneway semantics, and SystemServer lifecycle.
- Strong AOSP skills covering Soong, repo workflows, incremental builds, lunch targets, flashing/fastboot, adb debugging, dumpsys, and bugreport analysis.
- Solid SELinux experience writing policy and contexts and diagnosing audit denials without over-granting permissions.
- Practical SocketCAN, CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, Wireshark, and SOME/IP experience, including vsomeip and CommonAPI or an equivalent stack.
- Experience with C++, Java, Kotlin, Rust, Python, and Bash.
- Preferred qualifications include distributed-team leadership, HIL/SIL test-rig and restbus-simulation exposure, and HIDL-to-AIDL VHAL migration experience.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
