Base Salary

$157k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and delivers secure, scalable production software.
  • Builds and supports complex Java and Spring applications and high-volume APIs.
  • Deploys and operates applications in AWS using Terraform and troubleshoots them with tools such as Grafana and Splunk.
  • Reviews and debugs code, establishes validation standards, and promotes secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reusable engineering patterns.
  • Leads responsible adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, review, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
  • Identifies and automates recurring remediation opportunities to improve application and system stability.
  • Leads technical evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams covering architecture, credentials, and system applicability.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java and hands-on experience building and supporting Java Spring applications.
  • Experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and the software development life cycle.
  • Experience deploying applications in AWS infrastructure using Terraform and EAC.
  • Experience troubleshooting deployed applications with Grafana, Splunk, or similar tools.
  • Experience building APIs at scale that handle very high transaction volumes.
  • Experience leading AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant engineering workflows.
  • Advanced understanding of application resiliency and security practices.
  • Preferred: financial-services industry and IT systems knowledge, practical cloud-native experience, critical-application incident resolution within less than two hours, and ability to develop applications using AI models such as Claude and GPT.
