Base Salary
$176k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-assisted engineering outputs.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and approved automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Drive decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Python design and coding, Flask or Django, APIs, microservices, testing, data handling, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations, including coaching senior engineers and leads.
- Experience with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS, as well as infrastructure as code and practical cloud-native development.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
