Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable components, frameworks, and algorithms for distributed filesystems and multi-tenant SaaS cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain production software used by millions of users on Salesforce’s cloud platform.
- Lead requirements gathering, roadmap definition, partner coordination, and execution unblocking with product owners and cross-functional teams.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and lead adoption of engineering best practices.
- Resolve complex technical issues and improve system scalability, robustness, fault tolerance, concurrency, and availability.
- Contribute to deployment automation, documentation, refinement, planning, retrospectives, and robust test plans.
- Troubleshoot owned services and participate in the team’s on-call rotation to maintain operational availability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience with mastery of systems design and programming languages or platforms.
- Deep knowledge of distributed filesystem design across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Strong object-oriented programming and scripting experience with Java and Python, plus strong SQL skills.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Trino.
- Experience developing SaaS products on public cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven ability to design and develop distributed systems at scale, including queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and demonstrated engineering leadership.
- Preferred experience with design patterns, Big Data or ML, S3, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Preferred experience working in a high-paced, rapidly growing multinational organization.
