Responsibilities

  • Write, test, and document code, scripts, and processes according to organizational standards.
  • Solve technical problems and build impactful software components and libraries.
  • Deliver high-quality work while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, lead corrective action plans, and address systemic issues.
  • Design integrated systems that support cross-functional delivery at scale, speed, and reliability.
  • Manage technical debt and lead initiatives to eliminate it.
  • Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges and guide mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement secure development practices.
  • Assess technical risks, implement prevention strategies, and improve squad delivery practices.
  • Promote reuse, eliminate duplicated effort, and support team performance and individual development.
  • Explore emerging technologies, lead prototype development, and incorporate results into architectural solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.
  • Proficiency with the listed programming languages, frameworks, front-end technologies, deployment tools, source-control systems, data stores, integration technologies, cloud providers, and test automation tools.
  • Ability to optimize systems for performance, resiliency, reliability, simplicity, and incremental delivery.
  • Ability to communicate ideas verbally, in writing, in code, and through diagrams.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and share responsibilities cooperatively.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and DevOps toolchain practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Preferred: master’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience/training.
  • Preferred: airline industry experience.
