Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices and define versioned API contracts with consistent error handling.
- Implement event-driven architectures, high-performance data access layers, integration layers, and React-based user interfaces.
- Deliver and validate complete UI-to-API-to-database-to-events workflows with transaction safety, idempotency, error recovery, observability, and production reliability.
- Use AI coding assistants for coding, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and test generation while reviewing and production-hardening their output.
- Write clean, maintainable, unit-tested, and integration-tested code; participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile delivery.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using observability tools such as Dynatrace.
- Provide technical leadership, clarify requirements, mentor engineers, facilitate pair programming, and promote consistent testing, documentation, and observability practices.
- Build reusable, documented services and contribute to API, microservices, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent and typically 5+ years of relevant experience, with 5–7 years of software development experience in product or enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST API design, and microservices architecture.
- At least 2–3 years of experience with React.js and TypeScript.
- Experience with SQL, Oracle or PostgreSQL, Hibernate/JPA, event-driven systems such as Kafka, caching systems such as Redis, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automated testing.
- Strong debugging and production issue analysis skills.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants and the ability to review, validate, and production-harden AI-generated code.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, document services, and explain technical decisions.
- Healthcare domain experience and familiarity with FHIR, HL7, C-CDA, HIPAA compliance, and PHI/PII handling are desirable.
- Experience with Databricks, data pipelines, Elasticsearch, Redis, Docker, or Kubernetes is desirable.
