Base Salary
$40k - $90k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate software for retail point-of-sale devices, including printers, cash drawers, scanners, payment terminals, tablets, and desktops.
- Use RS-232, serial, USB, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP, and Web API communications with external devices and services.
- Work with local and distributed team members to communicate designs, ideas, and implementation details clearly.
- Design and manage complex systems across their lifecycles, including reliability, failover, performance, asynchronous, and event-driven considerations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience.
- Experience with mobile and browser applications on Android, iOS, and Windows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include low-level systems programming, Windows and Linux application development, container applications, embedded systems communications, performance tuning, Git, C#, ASP.NET Core, Java, SignalR, Android SDK, Xamarin, .NET MAUI, Angular, and retail or payment-device development.
- Experience with Verifone or Ingenico payment devices, OPOS, Raspberry Pi, cash drawers, printers, and payment terminals is desirable.
