Base Salary
$113k - $254k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable software solutions that modernize and automate Global Forwarding workflows.
- Build AI-enabled and agentic applications that interpret information, take actions across systems, support decisions, and escalate exceptions when needed.
- Design interfaces and develop code across applications, APIs, services, data platforms, and shared capabilities.
- Build integrations with internal platforms, APIs, carrier systems, external partners, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Establish reliable enterprise AI patterns covering evaluation, observability, human-in-the-loop controls, grounding, security, auditability, and guardrails.
- Provide technical leadership across initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams and business domains.
- Improve performance, maintainability, scalability, reliability, availability, security, and code quality through engineering practices, reviews, testing, and refactoring.
- Mentor and coach software engineers through architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
- Estimate software initiatives, document technical guidance, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex technical problems and deliver software.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience developing and implementing commercial software.
- Strong experience designing and developing applications in an object-oriented environment such as C# and .NET.
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, services, integrations, relational and non-relational databases, schema design, stored procedures, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and unit, integration, acceptance, and automated testing strategies.
- Experience with version control systems and modern software delivery practices.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems spanning systems, teams, or business domains and translate business processes into scalable technical solutions.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence architecture without relying solely on formal authority.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to engineering, product, business, and operational stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or another technology field, or at least 6 years of equivalent work experience plus a high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred experience with generative AI, large language models, agentic technologies, tool or function calling, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt orchestration, multi-step agents, and workflow-based AI systems.
- Preferred experience developing AI evaluation frameworks, AI observability, governance, security, privacy, responsible deployment, and AI coding assistant workflows.
- Preferred experience with logistics or other complex operational systems, cloud-native applications, data streaming, messaging, external partner integrations, legacy modernization, decision engines, optimization, and intelligent workflow orchestration.
- Preferred customer focus, curiosity, ability to navigate ambiguity, learning mindset, and commitment to an inclusive work environment.
