Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery across build, test, release, and run for platform products and services.
- Set technology strategy and improve reliability, release cadence, engineering standards, and technical-debt remediation across development pods.
- Design services for performance, resilience, observability, recoverability, and operational readiness.
- Execute safe, predictable releases and manage release execution, change management, and operational acceptance.
- Run incident response, problem management, post-incident reviews, retrospectives, and production support rituals.
- Manage risk, vulnerabilities, governance, regulatory controls, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Prioritize outcomes with Technology Owners, Product Owners, Information Technology Security Officers, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor colleagues through pairing, documentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of platform capabilities.
- Manage multiple development teams and communicate objectives, key results, progress, and impact.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack development and operations experience across build, test, release, and run, including continuous delivery practices.
- Hands-on ability to code and deploy to production in at least two programming languages, such as Java, JavaScript, Clojure, and Python.
- Relational database experience, preferably with PostgreSQL.
- Working knowledge of Unix, infrastructure, and operating across Unix and Windows environments.
- Experience designing and consuming HTTP application programming interfaces, including REST APIs.
- Proven technical leadership through raising engineering standards, coaching, and improving team ways of working.
- Strong production support capability involving observability, incident management, problem management, and service reliability improvement.
- Experience managing multiple development teams and partnering directly with Product Owners.
- Strong stakeholder management and judgment when balancing time, risk, and quality.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity and regulatory requirements involving data privacy, consent, and data residency.
