Responsibilities
- Design and develop large-scale distributed systems for Apple Services Engineering data products.
- Build and deploy data pipelines and real-time streaming applications handling billions of data points per day.
- Develop analytics platforms, datasets, computation platforms, insights, and metrics for product, marketing, analytics, and data science teams.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product leads, analytics leaders, and distributed partner teams on cross-functional projects.
- Deliver reliable, scalable, well-tested, and maintainable software while reasoning about complex failure modes.
Requirements
- Several years of experience designing and developing distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Java or Scala for big data processing.
- Experience with modern data processing, streaming, and warehousing technologies such as Flink, Kafka, and Iceberg or equivalents.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience maintaining large-scale data pipelines using technologies such as Spark and Airflow or equivalents.
- Strong background in software testing methodologies and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across distributed teams.
- Contributions to open-source tools in data processing are preferred.
