Base Salary
$193k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the PlayStation Portal telemetry strategy, including KPIs, data models, collection mechanisms, SDKs, data quality, schema management, and versioning.
- Design and implement observability architectures, unified metrics/events/traces pipelines, real-time and batch analytics platforms, and scalable insights infrastructure.
- Develop platform health dashboards and reporting solutions for engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Automate telemetry validation, quality monitoring, anomaly detection, trend analysis, benchmark execution, performance regression detection, reporting, and quality gates.
- Integrate quality and performance metrics into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with Engineering, QE, Security, Platform, and Infrastructure teams to improve platform quality, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of Android native development experience with Java, Kotlin, and Android Studio.
- Experience designing and implementing telemetry and observability systems, metrics/monitoring/analytics platforms, Android/AOSP platform software, CI/CD pipelines, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience using Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto, Systrace, or atrace for performance measurement, profiling, root-cause analysis, and optimization.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Kotlin, or C++.
- Experience with dashboarding, visualization, and reporting tools.
- Experience leading technical initiatives in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with Grafana, Kibana, Datadog, BigQuery, Snowflake, Spark, OpenTelemetry, consumer electronics or gaming devices, SRE/reliability engineering, machine-learning anomaly detection, React, React Native, Angular, responsive user interfaces, and dynamic web applications.
