Base Salary
$170k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop low-level firmware for CPU boot, debug, idle, and active power management.
- Coordinate debugging of critical software issues involving CPU microarchitecture, including prefetching, speculation, and memory ordering.
- Define short- and long-term CPU software architecture roadmaps aligned with Arm architecture ISA evolution.
- Represent CPU software teams in technical engagements with Arm, RISC-V architects, and third-party software partners.
- Make CPU software and hardware design trade-offs and support commercialization across Snapdragon products.
- Lead hands-on technical execution and collaborate with engineers, partners, customers, and senior management across geographies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 6+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 5+ years or a PhD plus 4+ years.
- At least 3 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred experience includes 15+ years designing, developing, and supporting embedded software solutions on multi-core CPUs with strong C/C++ skills.
- Deep computer architecture expertise in areas such as memory consistency, coherency, memory management, virtualization, security or sandboxing, and superscalar architectures.
- Experience with ARM or RISC-V architectures, embedded platforms, low-level drivers, firmware, kernels, user-space components, and heterogeneous SoC platforms.
- Experience using J-TAG or ICE debuggers, developing real-time embedded software, and developing drivers on an RTOS.
- Understanding of SoC hardware blocks including clocks, PLLs, GPIO, interrupt controllers, peripherals, and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, and UFS.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, technical leadership, business-process transformation, and senior-management engagement skills.
