Responsibilities
- Own and build backend-driven features for the game.
- Collaborate with game designers, client developers, product, and data teams from feature design through launch and iteration.
- Build scalable systems for progression, events, competition, social features, and live operations.
- Provide technical ownership and challenge product and design choices to ensure features are scalable and robust.
- Reuse and extend Voodoo’s backend platform while enabling the game team to move quickly.
- Handle responsibilities spanning infrastructure, API design, coding, and client-side integration.
- Gather requirements, champion new technology initiatives, and leverage existing solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend development experience.
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
- At least 1 year of professional experience with Golang and extreme fluency in the language.
- Mastery of SQL and NoSQL.
- Experience with high-scale systems.
- Understanding of Unix-like environments.
- Experience working in cross-functional agile teams.
- Strong analytical skills and a track record of solving complex scalability, performance, and integration problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence teams and work effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-sufficient.
- A deep interest in game development is a plus.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Paris.
