Responsibilities

Understand long-term architectural direction and design reusable components and integrations across multiple applications.
Work with technical delivery managers, business analysts, and solution designers to translate business requirements into scalable, interoperable, performant, reliable, and available technology solutions.
Design, develop, unit test, performance test, functionally test, and implement backend software supporting mobile apps, SDKs, micro-frontends, WhatsApp, and ecosystem partners.
Establish platform-development standards and create reusable development frameworks.
Develop open APIs and platform capabilities that enable seamless integration across ecosystem partners.
Build reusable RESTful services and continuously deliver high-quality code to production.
Own rollout and launch activities while ensuring architecture and coding standards are followed.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, R&D, analysts, product managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
Use data-driven insights to guide the development of programs and applications that meet user needs.
Engage senior management on strategic plans, lead project steering committees, and provide status updates.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education, plus suitable certifications for key skills.
Six to eighteen years of overall engineering experience is stated across the posting, including a technical-skills requirement of seven to eighteen years.
Proven hands-on experience engineering enterprise-grade solutions and translating technology and architectural strategies into engineering outcomes.
Deep expertise in Java, Node.js, Python, scalable event-driven and distributed microservices, enterprise NoSQL databases such as Couchbase, stream-based processing such as Flink and Google Cloud Dataflow, REST API frameworks such as Swagger, pub-sub frameworks such as Google Pub/Sub and Kafka, and full-duplex secure communication using non-blocking message flows such as WSS.
Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions, build pipelines, Java development tools, IDEs, Jira, Confluence, Kubernetes, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, Jenkins, Postman, and WebSocket client tools.
Strong communication, collaboration, problem analysis, organizational, vendor-management, negotiation, prioritization, and independent-working skills.
Ability and willingness to remain hands-on, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, engage senior management, and lead project steering committees.
Fluent written and spoken English.
