Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority and technical lead for the Merchandise Planning and Allocation Engineering team.
  • Lead solution and integration architecture for assortment planning, merchandise financial planning, allocation, fulfillment, and enterprise systems.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance MP&A applications and integration strategies.
  • Develop and maintain integrations, performant code, ETL data pipelines, and automation processes.
  • Own the engineering lifecycle from design and development through QA, SIT, UAT, performance testing, and deployment.
  • Provide Level 3 production support, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and analysts and coordinate with business users, functional leads, and vendors.
  • Promote best practices in coding, testing, integration, and version control.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience in retail systems, preferably in Planning and Allocation, with a retail IT background required.
  • Proven experience with technical architecture for enterprise retail solutions and retail application ecosystems.
  • Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendor partners.
  • Hands-on integration experience across retail applications, data warehouses, and external SaaS applications.
  • Strong proficiency with retail data models and databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL, plus expert-level SQL skills.
  • Hands-on coding experience with Python, PL/SQL, Java, or Linux Shell scripting.
  • Experience developing modern dataflow pipelines, preferably with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration frameworks.
  • Understanding of batch, API, and real-time integration patterns.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git, and Agile/DevOps tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of batch scheduling tools such as Control-M.
  • Specific experience with Blue Yonder/JDA applications, including Fulfillment, Enterprise Planning, or Assortment Planning.
  • Familiarity with Core Merchandising systems such as RMS/Island Pacific, WMS, or OMS.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
