Responsibilities
- Design and build clean, testable, efficient backend systems and APIs.
- Architect scalable infrastructure for high-trust and high-volume requirements.
- Apply strong testing, quality, and maintainability practices across projects.
- Analyze user needs and system behavior to solve complex product challenges.
- Help shape engineering practices and technical culture through collaboration and hands-on leadership.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to reason about long-term system behavior and large architectural problems.
- Production proficiency in at least one backend language such as Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience designing scalable APIs and backend infrastructure for high-volume or high-trust systems.
- Production experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Experience deploying and managing applications in containerized or cloud environments such as Kubernetes or AWS.
- Experience writing automated tests and maintaining testable codebases.
- Background in high-trust or regulated domains such as fintech, payments, or identity.
- Clear communication, comfort with ambiguity, and collaborative working style.
- Preferred experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Event Sourcing, Express, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, AWS, and early-stage or high-growth companies.
