Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
- Build and operate cloud-native, microservices-based applications and distributed systems.
- Use domain modeling and modern architectural patterns to create clear, testable, evolvable software.
- Write, review, debug, and maintain high-quality production code.
- Automate recurring remediation and investigate operational issues to improve system stability.
- Design solutions supporting zero-downtime releases, reliability, security, and optimized data performance.
- Engineer and operationalize AI-enabled capabilities including agentic workflows, tool use, orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and drive adoption of approved AI-assisted development practices.
- Establish validation standards for AI-generated outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, and performance.
- Coach engineers on responsible, secure, compliant use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development proficiency with Python and Java.
- Experience building microservices-based applications, APIs, RESTful services, JSON-based integrations, and web services.
- Strong AWS or comparable cloud experience, including designing, deploying, and operating distributed cloud-native systems.
- Experience with distributed systems, WebSockets, SQL databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of application resiliency, reliability, availability, secure development, and the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, and resiliency and security expectations.
- Preferred familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
