Base Salary

$176k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own platform-level architecture and technical strategy for secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native platforms.
  • Lead complex initiatives from discovery and design through delivery and operations, establishing reusable engineering standards, patterns, and reference implementations.
  • Design and implement backend services, GraphQL APIs, React UIs, Module Federation micro-frontends, Hugo-based content pipelines, and integrations with Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, and event-driven workflows.
  • Build content discovery and authoring capabilities, including Lucene-based full-text search, documentation hosting, scaffolding, validation, and publishing pipelines.
  • Write secure, high-quality, and documented code using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, GraphQL, Python, and Go.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on technical guidance while partnering with product owners and stakeholders on roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Define and enforce standards for security, performance, availability, observability, cost efficiency, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, CI/CD quality gates, SSO, and role-based access control.
  • Lead proofs of concept, evaluate technologies, promote secure-by-design practices, and drive responsible adoption and validation of AI-assisted engineering tools.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Expertise in distributed-system design, application architecture, technical leadership, cross-team initiatives, and engineering standards.
  • Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations in engineering workflows.
  • Strong experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in large enterprise environments using modern programming and database-querying languages.
  • Hands-on proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python, with experience designing and delivering GraphQL and REST APIs.
  • Deep full-SDLC experience with secure, resilient, observable systems and AWS cloud-native architectures, including ECS/Fargate, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and multi-AZ or multi-region resiliency.
  • Experience with agile engineering practices, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, mentoring, design reviews, and architectural decision-making.
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one technical discipline such as cloud, AI/ML, mobile, or data platforms.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
  • Preferred experience with Terraform, relational and distributed databases including PostgreSQL, video streaming or content platforms, observability, performance optimization, and cloud cost governance.
  • Preferred experience with Hugo, Artifactory, Lucene, Module Federation, Go CLI tools, content publishing platforms, RSS and email delivery, MCP, ADFS-based SSO, role-based access control, Bitbucket, and GitHub.
