Base Salary
$85k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive partner adoption of WordPress and other Automattic products and services.
- Own partner requests, delivery timelines, project outcomes, and site quality from onboarding through support and maintenance.
- Configure and build WordPress and WooCommerce sites, including plugins, themes, Site Editor patterns, and page templates.
- Lead deployments and launches involving DNS configuration, domain transfers, data migrations, and integrations.
- Troubleshoot technical and editor-facing issues, resolve root causes where possible, and liaise with engineers on complex problems.
- Translate partner needs into WordPress-focused requirements and detailed execution tasks.
- Respond quickly to urgent incidents such as fatal errors and workflow-blocking bugs.
- Act as the voice of the customer by advocating for partner needs, verifying delivered solutions, surfacing bugs, and identifying product opportunities.
- Communicate with partners and third parties about technical needs, integration requirements, and WordPress best practices.
- Improve and share processes, tools, and knowledge to increase team capacity and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Advanced WordPress administration expertise, including understanding plugin and theme interactions and using the Site Editor to modify patterns and page templates.
- Strong knowledge of DNS, web accessibility, site performance, technical SEO, and ecommerce.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to triage requests, escalate issues outside the role’s scope, and manage work independently amid competing priorities.
- Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations, define next steps, manage risks, resolve conflicts, and context-switch effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, problem-solving ability, and commitment to closing project items.
- Demonstrable understanding of how AI can improve productivity, supported by relevant examples.
- Experience contributing to an open source project is a bonus.
- Experience using Linear is a bonus.
- Experience supporting or operating a WooCommerce store is a bonus.
