Base Salary
$89k - $145k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, modify, develop, implement, and maintain software applications and integrations using structured software development practices.
- Acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation and optimization.
- Develop API proxies and shared flows on Apigee Edge and Apigee X for REST and SOAP APIs, including transformations and fault handling.
- Lead Apigee Edge-to-X migrations through inventory, dependency mapping, risk and effort sizing, and migration wave planning.
- Implement API gateway security and traffic management, including OAuth2/JWT, API keys, rate limiting, quotas, caching, and JavaScript callouts.
- Configure GCP networking and security for API platforms, including VPCs, DNS, firewalling, hybrid connectivity, load balancing, IAM, service accounts, TLS/mTLS, certificate rotation, WAF, and Cloud Armor.
- Automate GCP infrastructure with Terraform and support platform reliability through dashboards, alerts, SLOs/SLIs, and incident response.
- Use automated testing tools for software testing and maintenance and develop AI agents, copilots, and AI-assisted workflows using responsible AI practices.
Requirements
- Knowledge of software integration processes and the ability to design, develop, and maintain interfaces between platforms and software packages.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle and structured methods for delivering and managing software products.
- Knowledge of software product design and the ability to convert requirements into software designs.
- Knowledge of technical software product configuration and integration.
- Experience or capability in RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger contract-first development, API linting and governance, automated regression and contract testing, and OWASP API security awareness.
- Hands-on experience with Apigee Edge and Apigee X, API gateway security, GCP networking and security, Terraform infrastructure automation, platform reliability, and incident response.
- Ability to work in Chicago, Illinois or Peoria, Illinois; relocation assistance is not available.
