Base Salary
$222k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the end-to-end architecture for clinical analytics, including analytical data serving, metric computation, self-serve dashboarding, and visualization.
- Make foundational decisions about OLAP, analytical storage, data modeling, query performance, caching, and scalability for population-level health data.
- Design secure multi-tenant systems with data isolation, fine-grained access control, and auditability for sensitive health data.
- Determine how health systems define, customize, and share metrics and dashboards while balancing flexibility, governance, performance, and cost.
- Build and prototype critical components, establish technical standards, and lead design and code reviews across teams.
- Mentor and grow engineers and partner with engineering leaders to align roadmaps and reduce technical risk.
- Establish practices for reliability, observability, and operational excellence in production analytics services.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale software systems, including technical leadership on complex multi-team initiatives.
- Deep experience with data, OLAP, or analytics technologies, including analytical databases, BI and dashboarding platforms, and data modeling for high-performance reporting.
- Strong backend engineering expertise in .NET (C#), Python, or a similar language, with experience in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures such as Azure.
- Ability to make and communicate architectural tradeoffs and drive alignment among engineering, product, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising team technical capability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical design documentation.
- Preferred: experience with embedded analytics, self-serve BI, data-driven products, multi-tenant architectures, row-level security, regulated or sensitive-data environments, healthcare data, clinical quality measures, health informatics, containerized deployments, infrastructure as code, high-availability production services, or AI and natural-language interfaces for analytics.
