Responsibilities
- Perform advanced system analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of applications and databases.
- Translate technical specifications into code for complex projects and implement automated testing practices.
- Lead backend optimization for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate data sources, APIs, third-party products, and services to improve data flow and system efficiency.
- Create and maintain backend architecture and technical documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, resilience, and enterprise architecture best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to design backend interfaces.
- Deploy applications across development, test, and production environments and provide production support.
- Participate in design, code, and test inspections, systems analysis, change control, and issue resolution.
- Mentor less-experienced staff and communicate technical considerations with cross-functional teams and internal clients.
- Ensure deliverables comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and requirements.
- Participate in special projects and other assigned duties.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services including ECS, Lambda, and S3.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with build pipelines and deployment automation.
- Go or Java experience is preferred.
- Experience with AI tools, preferably Claude Code, is preferred.
- Financial industry experience involving stocks, foreign exchange, or mutual funds is preferred.
- Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA, plus familiarity with Agile and continuous process improvement.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
