Responsibilities
- Advise large customers and resolve complex MongoDB questions involving architecture, performance, recovery, security, and related technical areas.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for operating MongoDB at scale.
- Advocate for customer needs by interfacing with product management and development teams.
- Contribute to internal projects, including software development for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostic support tools.
- Investigate and troubleshoot problems in real time while collaborating with other team members.
Requirements
- Strong technical experience in one or more of systems administration, distributed systems, network administration, database architecture and administration, application architecture, data architecture and design, or performance tuning and benchmarking.
- For operations-focused candidates, experience administering large-scale production environments involving hardware, operating systems, networks, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud resources is preferred.
- Experience with one or more of Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl is a bonus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a genuine desire to help people.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to rapidly learn new technical skills.
- Strong teamwork and the ability to recognize when to seek assistance.
