Responsibilities
- Implement new features and improve existing customer-facing functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and QA teams to deliver a high-quality product.
- Write clean, scalable code and deploy production systems.
- Build tooling that makes the development process more robust and efficient.
- Develop and maintain unit tests.
- Troubleshoot code issues and provide solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical decisions, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to architecture, technical stack, process, product, and UX decisions.
- Keep current with development trends and recommend improvements.
- Ship and maintain production code.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of backend development experience.
- Proficiency in React and TypeScript with experience in Node.js.
- Proven experience with AWS, including services such as Lambda, AppSync, DynamoDB, and Aurora.
- Extensive experience with observability tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or New Relic.
- Experience with OLTP databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Good knowledge of architecture patterns and CI/CD tools and processes.
- Experience with security, software quality, production systems, and unit testing.
- Experience with Twilio, Bandwidth, Legos, or Ruby is preferred.
- API development experience with REST or GraphQL is preferred.
- Strong English communication, problem-solving, collaboration, feedback, and learning skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote organization and gather periodically.
