Base Salary
$175k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own projects end-to-end from technical scoping and architecture through deployment and production support.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making.
- Architect and build scalable web applications and services serving millions of Bilt members.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js frameworks including NestJS, Hono, and Express.
- Build performant frontend and mobile experiences using Next.js, React, and React Native.
- Use design systems and component libraries across web and mobile platforms.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
- Implement observability practices including structured logging, distributed tracing, monitoring, metrics, and alerting.
- Design scalable systems using caching strategies, asynchronous processing, and API design.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
- Hands-on Node.js backend development experience with NestJS, Express, or Hono.
- Experience with Next.js and/or React Native in production applications.
- Understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Familiarity with state management patterns and libraries such as Redux.
- Experience with design systems and component libraries.
- Understanding of observability fundamentals including logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting.
- Experience designing scalable systems using caching, asynchronous processing, and APIs.
- Proficiency with Git and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Comfort working across the full stack, handling ambiguity, and taking ownership with minimal hand-holding.
- Interest in AI-augmented development workflows using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and/or Devin.
