Responsibilities

Work alongside the sales team as the technical expert to help customers understand the value of Okta’s solutions.
Understand customer challenges and provide product demonstrations aligned with their needs.
Answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners, and colleagues.
Plan and deliver Proof Of Concepts for complex customer use cases.
Provide feedback to product management about enhancements to address customer needs.
Share and learn best practices with other Solutions Engineers to enhance team quality.
Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation.
Support marketing events including executive briefings and trade shows.
Lead as a subject matter expert on various product solutions when needed.

8+ years of pre-sales engineering experience and solution selling.
Demonstrated passion for serving customers in a customer-facing role.
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly, ideally using a whiteboard.
Experience deploying apps in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with standard network security protocols such as OAuth and SAML.
Experience working with REST APIs and SDKs.
Hands-on experience in web and backend development or scripting.
Understanding of core security concerns within applications.
Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences.
Territory management skills, including pipeline building.
Diagramming experience for user journey flows and architecture diagrams.
Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
