Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and support business-critical applications and software solutions.
- Gather business requirements, perform business analysis, and translate stakeholder needs into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, test, and implement functionality and system enhancements.
- Integrate business applications with Microsoft Office products and associated file formats using VB.NET.
- Develop and maintain database access functionality and data-driven solutions using SQL and Microsoft DAO API.
- Troubleshoot applications, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues.
- Support software releases, upgrades, and deployments.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimisation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and project teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering software solutions across the full application development life cycle.
- Expert knowledge of VB.NET and the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience integrating Microsoft Office applications and files using VB.NET.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft DAO API and SQL.
- Experience developing and supporting business-critical applications.
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet applicable UK Government security screening and National Security Vetting eligibility requirements, where required.
