Base Salary
$162k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled capabilities for Mainframe and Midrange systems management.
- Translate tower strategy into technical plans, epics, and implementation roadmaps.
- Architect, build, maintain, test, roll out, monitor, and operationalize agentic AI infrastructure automation solutions.
- Partner with operations, SRE, architecture, risk, and control functions to implement AI capabilities safely and transparently.
- Establish engineering standards covering design reviews, coding practices, documentation, observability, and incident readiness.
- Drive resiliency, scalability, performance, security, and operational effectiveness outcomes.
- Evaluate tooling and vendors through prototyping and technical due diligence.
- Communicate design rationale, tradeoffs, delivery status, risks, and mitigations to stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, design reviews, and technical coaching.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering enterprise-grade systems from design through operation.
- Experience building automation platforms or services and integrating them with infrastructure operations workflows, including AI-assisted automation or decision-driven systems.
- Experience delivering production solutions with strong resiliency, scalability, performance, security, and operational requirements.
- Knowledge of enterprise technology risk and control considerations, including SDLC controls, change management, access controls, auditability, and data handling.
- Ability to lead technical delivery across multiple teams and functions in a matrixed organization.
- Strong fundamentals in API and service design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing strategy, CI/CD, and observability.
- Experience mentoring and guiding engineers through reviews and technical feedback.
- Knowledge of Mainframe and Midrange automation and platform management practices is preferred.
- Exposure to agentic AI patterns and controls, including human-in-the-loop design, guardrails, prompt and tool governance, and evaluation or monitoring, is preferred.
- Experience partnering with SRE and operations teams on reliability improvements and integrating heterogeneous infrastructure ecosystems is preferred.
- Financial services or similarly regulated-industry experience is preferred.
