Base Salary
$145k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services for next-generation applications and solve distributed systems challenges.
- Build, maintain, and scale core infrastructure supporting the reliability, stability, and performance of the platform.
- Manage and upgrade large-scale database infrastructure, replication topologies, and automated operations.
- Use AWS, Golang, MySQL, Terraform, Temporal, and GitLab CI for infrastructure and reliability work.
- Collaborate through mob programming, code reviews, architectural discussions, and collective code ownership.
- Practice test-driven development and participate in team retrospectives and continuous improvement.
- Use AI tools to improve coding, testing, design, troubleshooting, and team processes.
- Participate in a gradually ramped operational on-call rotation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with software development and highly scalable, highly available applications.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- At least 5 years of experience with a modern programming language; Go is a plus, while Java, Kotlin, and Python experience are applicable.
- Experience developing, documenting, and supporting backend services and APIs.
- Desire to learn Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and database internals and reliability with MySQL.
- At least 1 year of professional experience using AI to improve productivity while building complex SaaS feature sets.
- Comfort with or willingness to learn mob programming, test-driven development, and shared system ownership.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
