Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex scalable cloud-native microservices for SAP’s Order Management platform.
- Participate in refinement, development, code review, deployment, and other full-sprint activities.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests and champion test automation and coding standards.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate build, test, deployment, and operational processes.
- Monitor application health, performance, and reliability and resolve complex production issues across application, integration, and infrastructure layers.
- Perform root cause analysis and deliver permanent fixes for production problems.
- Use AI-assisted development tools across requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance.
- Define team standards for AI-assisted development and evaluate AI tools based on quality, limitations, and cost.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, product managers, and engineering teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, unblock colleagues, support onboarding, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent functional experience.
- Highly proficient in software development with expert-level Java experience.
- Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
- Deep practical fluency with AI developer tools across the software development lifecycle and awareness of their limitations and costs.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST API design, and asynchronous messaging such as Kafka or similar.
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, cloud-native patterns, clean code, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
- Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Ability to work in an agile/scrum environment and collaborate across distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of OMS concepts such as order capture, fulfillment, ATP, and returns is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP and Azure is preferred.
- Open-source contributions are a plus.
