Responsibilities
- Define architecture and technical direction for intelligent, agent-driven procurement systems.
- Design agent patterns for planning, tool calling, failure recovery, human handoff, and framework selection.
- Own shared services for policy grounding, routing, orchestration, memory, and governed handoff.
- Set AI engineering guardrails, safety measures, evaluation methods, regression monitoring, and token-economics practices.
- Define procurement integration architecture, APIs, event contracts, and cross-team technical standards.
- Frame ambiguous problems, challenge requirements, drive decisions to closure, and identify systemic risks.
- Mentor senior developers and develop technical onboarding and capability curricula for agentic and AI-assisted development.
- Remain hands-on by implementing the most technically challenging parts of the architecture.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience creating and managing production AI agents capable of planning, tool use, and failure recovery.
- Experience designing RAG pipelines using embeddings, hybrid search, re-ranking, vector stores, and agent/tool interaction protocols such as MCP.
- Experience with enterprise AI reliability and safety practices, including guardrails, prompt-injection defense, PII handling, audit trails, human-in-the-loop workflows, golden-set evaluations, LLM-as-a-judge, regression harnesses, prompt/model drift monitoring, model routing, caching, and cost-per-task budgeting.
- Strong architectural expertise in Java, Spring Boot 3.x, reactive programming, WebFlux, Project Reactor, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Experience owning platform and integration architecture with Terraform, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Ability to decompose ambiguous problems, define standards, drive decisions, mentor engineers, and establish architecture through ADRs and OpenAPI specifications.
- Preferred experience with SAP BTP, CAP, AI Core, HANA Cloud Vector Engine, Integration Suite, S/4HANA Clean Core, procurement, ERP, or another enterprise domain.
