Responsibilities
- Design, develop, improve, and deliver scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized Android software solutions.
- Build modern Android applications using Kotlin, legacy Java codebases, XML, Jetpack Compose, navigation components, and established architectural patterns.
- Collaborate with product managers, product owners, UX designers, solution architects, security, platform, QA, and other engineering teams.
- Implement automated testing, secure coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, release automation, and monitoring capabilities.
- Manage Android application architecture, dependency management, modularization, build optimization, release processes, and application observability.
- Participate in code reviews, technology communities, cross-functional initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Guide team members or lead collaborative assignments, depending on whether the role has people-leadership responsibilities.
Requirements
- Strong Android development experience with expert knowledge of Kotlin and experience supporting legacy Java codebases.
- Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Components, XML, Jetpack Compose, Navigation Component, Compose Navigation, MVVM, MVP, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flows, and dependency injection using Hilt or Dagger.
- Strong understanding of Android lifecycle management, state handling, side-effect management, notifications, and permissions.
- Experience with Retrofit and OkHttp, Gradle, modularization strategies, and build optimization.
- Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito or MockK, and Compose UI Testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, and Snyk, along with GitFlow or trunk-based development.
- Knowledge of Android App Bundles, Android release processes, and monitoring or observability platforms such as Datadog and Firebase.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, dependency management, maintainable code design, secure coding, and unit testing practices.
- In-depth technical knowledge and experience in Android mobile development, with working knowledge of iOS development principles and mobile ecosystem standards.
- Ability to collaborate across functions, communicate complex information, influence stakeholders, manage risk and controls, and contribute to strategic and digital technology initiatives.
