Responsibilities
- Design, develop, improve, and deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions.
- Build and support modern Android applications while maintaining legacy Java codebases.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews and promote code quality, knowledge sharing, secure coding, and effective testing practices.
- Implement Android architecture, networking, dependency injection, modularization, build optimization, CI/CD, release, monitoring, and observability practices.
- Advise on complex issues, influence stakeholders, identify risks, and strengthen controls and governance.
- Lead teams or collaborative assignments, guide team members, and support objectives and professional development where applicable.
Requirements
- Strong Android development experience and expert knowledge of Kotlin.
- Experience supporting legacy Java codebases and working with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack Components.
- Experience with XML, Jetpack Compose, Navigation Component, Compose Navigation, MVVM, MVP, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flows, Hilt, and Dagger.
- Strong understanding of Android lifecycle management, state handling, side-effect management, notifications, and permissions.
- Experience with Retrofit and OkHttp networking technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Gradle, modularization strategies, and build optimization.
- Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito and/or MockK, and Compose UI Testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, and Snyk.
- Familiarity with GitFlow, Trunk-Based Development, Android App Bundles, and Android release processes.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog and Firebase.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, dependency management, and maintainable code design.
- Ability to communicate complex information, collaborate across functions, influence stakeholders, and manage risk and controls.
