Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve high-quality Android software solutions for mobile customer experiences.
- Build modern Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, XML, Android SDK, architectural patterns, coroutines, flows, and dependency injection.
- Support legacy Java codebases and maintain scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized application architecture.
- Implement networking, lifecycle management, state handling, notifications, permissions, modularization, and build optimization.
- Develop automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, monitoring, and release automation for Android applications.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, solution architects, security, platform, and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, technical communities, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Lead complex assignments or guide team members and influence stakeholders in an individual contributor or people leadership capacity.
Requirements
- In-depth technical knowledge and experience in Android mobile development.
- Strong Android development experience with expert knowledge of Kotlin and experience supporting legacy Java codebases.
- Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Components, XML, Jetpack Compose, Navigation Component, Compose Navigation, MVVM, MVP, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flows, Hilt, and Dagger.
- Strong understanding of Android lifecycle management, state handling, side-effect management, notifications, and permissions.
- Experience with Retrofit and OkHttp for networking.
- Strong knowledge of Gradle, modularization strategies, and build optimization.
- Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito or MockK, and Compose UI Testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, and Snyk, as well as GitFlow and trunk-based development.
- Experience with Android App Bundles and Android release processes.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog and Firebase.
- Understanding of application architecture, dependency management, maintainable code design, secure coding, risk controls, and governance.
- Working knowledge of iOS development principles and mobile ecosystem standards is valued.
- Ability to collaborate across functions, communicate complex information, solve problems creatively, and influence stakeholders.
