Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver complex distributed systems and cloud-native microservices at scale.
  • Build and deploy event-driven services, data pipelines, and applications using AWS and related data technologies.
  • Own the full delivery cycle, including requirements gathering, documentation, design, development, testing, and release.
  • Influence architecture, engineering standards, technical direction, and strategic decisions across the platform.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with product teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to triage of production and test environment issues.
  • Work across backend, frontend, and integration capabilities.
  • Apply automated testing, observability, monitoring, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing and delivering complex distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong hands-on software engineering capability and experience solving challenging technical problems.
  • Experience building microservices architectures in cloud-native environments.
  • Strong architectural and systems design skills.
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development, including Lambda, MWAA, Step Functions, Apache Iceberg, and Amazon Redshift.
  • Experience integrating event-driven services with API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Apache Kafka or AWS MSK, SNS, and SQS.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, .NET, TypeScript, or Go.
  • Experience developing microservices applications using RESTful APIs, reactive patterns, and batch processing.
  • Experience across backend, frontend, and integration capabilities.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on engineering delivery.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
  • Banking domain knowledge is desirable.
  • Exposure to AI-powered development or operational tooling is desirable.
