Base Salary

$149k - $224k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own a technical area and lead threat detection projects end to end, including research and feature delivery.
  • Write and refine detection logic on security platforms to identify malicious activity across Salesforce infrastructure, products, employees, and customers.
  • Build attack simulation scenarios and test the effectiveness, reliability, and quality of detection logic.
  • Correlate and analyze network, endpoint, host, operating system, cloud, SaaS, and other security logs.
  • Collaborate with CSIRT, incident response, and multiple engineering teams on organization-wide security initiatives.
  • Construct complex search queries, analyze large datasets, identify false positives, and tune detection rules.
  • Use coding and automation to improve threat detection and incident response workflows.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in threat detection, threat hunting, security incident response, or managing significant security incidents and breaches.
  • Expertise developing and refining threat detection methodologies using multiple log source types.
  • Strong understanding of log structures, data normalization, log correlation, complex analytic queries, and large-scale data analysis.
  • Experience constructing complex search queries using SPL, YARA, or other query languages.
  • Knowledge of security principles, common attack vectors, adversary Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures, the cyber kill chain, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Practical experience with SIEM, EDR, NDR, and SOAR tools and technologies.
  • Coding experience with Python or other programming languages for automation.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • A related technical degree is required.
  • Preferred experience with Splunk, Elastic/ELK, Flink, Chronicle, public cloud security, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Preferred undergraduate degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a similar subject.
  • Preferred experience with globally distributed teams, documentation and asynchronous communication, data science algorithms and methodologies, and SOAR automation platforms.
