Responsibilities
- Identify and frame high-leverage, ambiguous engineering problems and set technical direction.
- Build tools, platforms, and production systems end to end, from prototyping and architecture through operation.
- Extend the in-house cloud-hosted agentic AI platform, including self-hosted models, to automate previously impractical workflows.
- Replace risky or manual processes with secure, self-service tools that include guardrails and auditability.
- Create platforms, patterns, and standards that other engineers can build on, while decomposing work and maintaining quality.
- Present designs and defend architecture to senior technical leaders and executives.
- Own light, event-driven on-call responsibilities for systems built by the role.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience; alternatively, an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience or equivalent related work experience.
- Strong proficiency in C#, Go, and Python, with the ability to build full-stack, production-quality systems.
- Track record of shipping scalable tools and platforms that other teams or engineers depend on.
- Experience understanding and modifying complex cross-team systems and building and consuming APIs at scale.
- Fluency with LLMs, agents, and self-hosted models, with sound judgment about their appropriate use.
- Experience with containerized applications, cloud-native environments, Grafana, Splunk, and telemetry pipelines.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and experience designing self-service tools for observability data access.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across operating-system, application, and network layers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Services and/or NGINX websites and Linux operating systems, particularly Red Hat or CentOS.
- Fluent written and oral communication in English.
