Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain risk and analytics solutions for the Power and Gas trading desk using Python and Beacon Platform.
- Integrate quantitative models developed by the quant team into Beacon and connect them to relevant market data sources.
- Gather requirements from traders, quants, analysts, and deal desk professionals and translate them into technical solutions.
- Present technical approaches to mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with Beacon engineers on consistency, code quality, shared practices, and the evolution of the GPR technology stack.
- Own the full development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production delivery.
Requirements
- Strong Python development skills.
- At least two years of hands-on development experience with Beacon Platform, Quarts, or Athena; SecDB development experience is also considered.
- Understanding of quantitative modeling concepts sufficient to integrate and work with quantitative models.
- Ability to work directly with trading-desk stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence, resilience, self-sufficiency, and the ability to use direct feedback constructively.
- Apache Kafka experience is preferred.
- Previous trading-floor experience is advantageous.
