Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, optimize, and review distributed-system components for horizontal and vertical scalability.
- Build fault-tolerant services with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented design.
- Develop functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests to validate correctness, availability, and scalability.
- Create and customize alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts, troubleshooting tools, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, change management, and compliance documentation standards.
- Track work with minimal supervision, adapt priorities, collaborate across teams, and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with scalability, resiliency, operability, replication, synchronization, failover, and large-scale data retrieval, storage, or processing.
- Ability to develop performance, load, fault-injection, and functional tests and to troubleshoot complex operational issues.
- Experience with monitoring, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code, security controls, encryption, access management, remediation, and compliance practices.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, manage timelines with limited supervision, and adapt to changing priorities.
