Responsibilities
- Lead technical architecture, design, and implementation for key modules within the UKG Scheduling product suite.
- Provide technical leadership and support to engineering teams, including architectural guidance, roadmaps, standards, and design reviews.
- Collaborate with developers, operations, product managers, peers, and technical leaders to align architecture with business and product requirements.
- Define and enforce CI/CD standards, development methodologies, quality practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Improve service observability, resilience, performance, cost effectiveness, and incident recovery.
- Document and maintain product and service architecture.
- Drive strategic, cross-product, and multi-year architecture visions while identifying risks, mitigations, innovations, and emerging technologies.
- Explore artificial intelligence tools for engineering productivity and user-facing value.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of software development experience across the software development lifecycle.
- Proven experience as a lead software developer or in a comparable role driving architecture and implementation of complex software solutions.
- Extensive experience with Java-based development technologies for SaaS and multi-tenant systems.
- Experience with Datadog, Grafana, cloud technologies, object-oriented programming, service-oriented architecture, design patterns, and performance analysis.
- Experience designing reliable, scalable, secure, decoupled, and cost-optimized solutions using managed cloud services.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
- Experience with multiplatform software application development, CI/CD, feasibility studies, prototyping, and detailed analysis.
- Preferred experience with automated testing and modern quality practices, artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, analytics technologies, and messaging or event-streaming solutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder-influence skills.
