Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, maintainable solutions for challenging engineering problems.
- Write well-constructed code and defensive, robust tests.
- Improve team engineering standards through tools, design patterns, and engineering processes.
- Clarify ambiguous or conflicting requirements by proposing solutions and communicating trade-offs.
- Mentor and empower junior engineers.
- Launch full-stack features using Java APIs, React front ends, and complex distributed services.
- Enrich and validate metadata for discovery, personalization, compliance, and monetization systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of software development or related work experience.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with relational SQL-based databases, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, and SNS.
- Preferred experience with metadata classification, entity resolution, knowledge graph enrichment, Elasticsearch, search or indexing systems, or sports, entertainment, and media content pipelines.
