Responsibilities

  • Build and operate an internal skills marketplace and AI distribution platform for Xero engineers.
  • Own tools and platforms end to end from experimentation through production, including runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
  • Develop guidance and best practices for authoring agent skills, including agents for remediation tasks.
  • Collaborate with AWS, Microsoft, and GitHub on early-access AI technology.
  • Help shape technical direction and guide teams adopting AI engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with C#, .NET, and AWS.
  • Experience building internal tools or platforms that other engineers rely on.
  • Ability to apply production disciplines including runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions collaboratively.
  • Curiosity about coding agents, AI-native tools, and the future of AI engineering.
  • Ability to challenge decisions respectfully and learn new technologies in a structured, quality-focused way.
