Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and build AI-powered SRE platform systems and capabilities used by engineering teams.
- Participate in live-site monitoring rotations, handle escalations, and drive mitigations and detailed postmortems.
- Improve availability, scalability, performance, reliability, and operational practices based on live-site learnings.
- Drive adoption by writing integrations, pairing with engineers, and removing friction for teams onboarding to the platforms.
- Plan, estimate, schedule, and staff technical work.
- Mentor Software Engineers through hands-on coaching, advice, and training.
- Influence engineering-wide process improvements and best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience architecting and engineering large-scale distributed commercial applications and services.
- Experience building complex internal platforms adopted by 10+ teams in their critical paths at a large company.
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption through integrations, friction removal, and outcome measurement.
- Experience building and maintaining complex AI-powered applications in production.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages such as C#, C++, Go, or Python.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous patterns, and cloud programming.
- Experience with service-oriented and microservice-based architectures, HTTP applications, and web services development.
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices including agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Experience with a cloud provider such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and managed services such as AKS or GKE.
- Experience with database backends such as Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
- Experience working with or managing production Kubernetes infrastructure is a plus.
