Responsibilities
- Lead development of product features, experiments, technical initiatives, and complex backend systems.
- Shape architecture decisions, provide technical leadership, and influence and coach distributed engineers.
- Improve system architecture, software design, code quality, development processes, and engineering practices.
- Write high-quality maintainable code and support other engineers in doing the same.
- Collaborate with backend, client-side, and infrastructure teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Drive technical decisions and strengthen agile and scrum ways of working across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building performance-critical production applications using a JVM technology such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
- Proven experience leading projects, technical initiatives, or engineering teams with full ownership of the relevant systems.
- Hands-on experience with data platforms such as SQL, Cassandra, or Hadoop and the ability to select appropriate data solutions.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures and demonstrated excellence in software development and coding.
- Experience improving team productivity and effectiveness through KPI-driven engineering practices.
- Strong software architecture skills and experience driving architectural decisions within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, along with a passion for software craftsmanship and continuous learning.
