Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable services, APIs, customer experiences, and GraphQL subgraphs.
- Own software through design, implementation, testing, release, production operation, and support.
- Set technical direction, guide architecture across multiple services, and contribute to native mobile architecture decisions.
- Break complex problems into deliverable increments while remaining hands-on with critical implementation.
- Improve automated testing, CI/CD, observability, automation, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Mentor engineers across squads, provide candid code review feedback, and raise engineering standards.
- Use agentic engineering, prompt engineering, and AI agent-first development to improve product delivery.
Requirements
- Strong track record designing, building, and running large-scale, customer-facing, or business-critical production systems.
- Experience owning software from coding through testing, release, and production support.
- Ability to work in a monorepo alongside a microservices architecture and make changes carefully across teams.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions, and develop pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
- Combination of hands-on engineering and technical leadership, with influence without formal authority.
- Clear, empathetic communication, accountability, and a commitment to mentoring and high standards.
- Beneficial technical experience with .NET/C#, Java, Node.js, GraphQL and subgraphs, React, TypeScript, Next.js, Kafka, Swift, Kotlin, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, APIs and integration, unit/integration/end-to-end testing, performance testing, and modern deployment practices.
