Responsibilities
- Define architecture and technical direction for interconnected customer, colleague and branch technology platforms.
- Build and modernize full-stack services using TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, APIs, .NET and cloud technologies.
- Design and deliver distributed, cloud-native and event-driven systems, including integrations, SDKs, data layers and infrastructure.
- Lead large-scale modernization of legacy environments while protecting reliability, customer experience and delivery momentum.
- Engineer for production with secure-by-design practices, resilience, performance optimization, observability and operational ownership.
- Mentor engineers, challenge technical decisions constructively, and raise design and engineering standards across teams.
- Apply AI-powered and agentic development tools throughout discovery, requirements, development, testing and delivery.
Requirements
- Principal-level full-stack software engineering expertise across TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, .NET and cloud technologies.
- Deep systems-thinking and end-to-end architecture experience across customer journeys, platforms, data, dependencies and technical requirements.
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, SDKs, infrastructure, observability and complex integrations.
- Experience translating ambiguous business problems into clear technical options, architecture and pragmatic product-first trade-offs.
- Experience leading safe modernization of interconnected legacy environments and reducing technical debt.
- Strong integration engineering experience, including complex APIs and capabilities such as authentication, identity, biometrics, NFC or hardware-to-software integration.
- Experience with secure-by-design engineering, resilience patterns, performance optimization, monitoring and operational reliability.
- Principal Engineer-level technical leadership, influence, mentoring and architectural stewardship.
- Experience with several of the listed backend, frontend, architecture, event streaming, database, cloud, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, testing, repository, AI-assisted development and observability technologies.
