Responsibilities
- Define target architecture and lead technical direction for a three-year ATM and customer service technology transformation.
- Design and deliver resilient, secure, cloud-native distributed systems, APIs, event-driven integrations, and a Java-based ATM switching platform.
- Modernize complex legacy environments while protecting reliability, customer experience, and delivery momentum.
- Champion Terraform, fail-safe design, REST APIs, observability, automated delivery, operational ownership, and quality engineering.
- Apply AI-assisted and agentic development tools across discovery, codebase understanding, requirements, development, testing, and modernization.
- Mentor engineers, influence architecture across multiple teams, challenge technical decisions constructively, and raise engineering standards.
Requirements
- Principal-level systems thinking, end-to-end architecture expertise, and technical leadership across interconnected platforms and customer journeys.
- Deep Java and Spring Boot expertise with full-stack engineering breadth, ideally including TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native distributed systems at scale, including APIs, event-driven architecture, SDKs, data, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, resilience, and complex integrations.
- Experience leading safe, large-scale modernization of complex legacy environments and reducing technical debt.
- Strong integration engineering experience across complex, interconnected platforms and systems.
- Experience with secure-by-design practices, performance engineering, automated delivery, resilience, observability, and production operations.
- Experience with technologies and tools including Apache Kafka, Oracle PL/SQL, MongoDB, AWS, AWS CDK, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Specmatic, GitHub, TurboRepo, Roo Code, Cline, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Observe, Prometheus, Grafana, and PagerDuty.
- Experience applying AI-powered engineering and agentic tooling, including generative AI, LLMs, knowledge graphs, or agentic software development.
